Actress Shubra Aiyappa, who has worked in Telugu and Kannada films, married Bangalore-based businessman Vishal Sivappa in an intimate ceremony on Thursday.

“Vishal and I got married in the presence of our loved ones in ‘Doddamane’. This is his ancestral home of over 150 years. We felt the love of this joyous occasion in this magical place with our beautiful near and dear ones,” She wrote along with the pictures.
The couple got married in at Vishal’s 150-year-old ancestral home in Coorg.
Shubra wore a beige saree with pink border and Vishal looked good in an all-white look with a head gear that matched Shubra’s saree.
Shubra and Vishal got engaged last January and went on a romantic holiday to the Maldives.
Shubra had spoken to the Times of India after her Maldives trip. “All I knew was that I was going to the Maldives for a trip. All I knew was that we had a dinner reservation. I wore my favourite outfit, thankfully. He had set up this place on a private beach with candles and a gazebo, where he went down on his knees and asked me if I would marry him. It was beautifully curated and it was an emotional moment for both of us,” she was quoted as saying by Times of India.
Shubra made her acting debut in 2014 with the Telugu film Prathinidhi.

Harshika Poonacha has signed her first movie of this year, and she will be paired opposite Kantara fame Swaraj Shetty. The project which is untitled as of now is being directed by Vinu Balanja.
Harshika says, “It’s a fun movie which takes you on a roller coaster journey, completely set in the coastal town of Mangaluru. It’s only at the end where the suspense is revealed on a serious note.”

Tributes were paid to K. Mireille Chengappa, 86, daughter of Gen. K.S. Thimayya, India’s 6th Chief of Army Staff, at Thimayya Memorial Museum in Madikeri on Saturday.
Ms. Chengappa passed away in Bengaluru on Friday and the staff of the museum made floral offerings to her portrait and recalled her contribution to the establishment of the museum and observed a minute’s silence as a mark of respect.

Kongetira Mireille Chengappa, aged 86 years, wife of Maj. Gen. Kongetira M. Chengappa and daughter of General Kodandera S. Thimayya, passed away in Bengaluru at 7 pm yesterday. She leaves behind her son K.C. Belliappa and daughter Amrita.
Last rites will be performed at Hebbal crematorium in Bengaluru today at 6 pm, said family sources.
General Kodandera Subayya Thimayya served as the Chief of Army Staff from 1957 to 1961 in the crucial years leading up to the conflict with China in 1962.
Mireille was born in 1936 and Gen. Thimayya and his wife Nina (from Codanda family) named her Mireille as Nina was sent to France for schooling as a 13-year-old. She stayed there for 5 years and found the name Mireille popular in France.
Mireille studied at Bishop Cotton Girls School in Bengaluru for a brief period before she went to Woodstock at Mussoorie and later had a stint at J.J. School of Arts, Mumbai
Her son (Gen. Thimayya’s grandson) Belliappa lives in Bengaluru and is married to Nicole, a professional photographer. The General’s granddaughter Amrita is married to a German and they live near Almora in Uttaranchal.

Actor Rashmika Mandanna has been chosen as the Coorg Person of the Year 2022 in a poll conducted by www.coorgtourisminfo.com, a news portal based in the district of Kodagu.
Sharing the details, author P.T. Bopanna, who runs the news portal, said he decided to promote ‘role models’ by conducting an annual poll in 2005 to select a ‘Coorg Person of Year’ to ‘reignite the famed leadership qualities in the community’.
This year, the choice was Rashmika Mandanna, who achieved phenomenal success with the pan-India movie Pushpa- The Rise, and drew the spotlight on the tiny hill district of Kodagu, also known as Coorg, a popular tourist destination inhabited by Kodavas, who have a unique culture.
