US honour for Kodagu researcher

Mysore/Mysuru:

Theetharamada Dr. Devaki (Kollimada) has completed a prestigious Post-Doctoral Research Degree in Commerce from an institution in YUVA University Florida, USA.

She is the only lady from Kodagu to receive this honour in the field of Commerce.

Her post-doctoral study, titled ‘Impact of Yoga Practice on Stress Management Among Higher Secondary School Students in Mysore District,’ explored the effectiveness of structured yoga interventions in reducing stress levels among adolescents.

The research offers valuable insights for educators, policymakers and wellness practitioners, highlighting yoga as a powerful tool for enhancing student well-being.

AGM Of Pombolak Kodava Koota

Mysore/Mysuru:

The first Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) and get-together of Pombolak Kodava Koota, Mysuru was  held at Kodava Samaja premises in Vijayanagar here recently.

Koota President Mundottira Jaya Chengappa presided.

Theetharamada Dr. Devaki rendered the invocation. Vice-President Thathira Bheemaiah condoled the death of Koota members in the past one year.

Koota’s annual report was read out by Joint Secretary Guddanda Rashmi Uday while the accounts was presented by Treasurer Kullachanda Vinutha Kesari.

The names of new members was read out by Annarkanda Prathima Thimmaiah, who also  compered the programme. 

Committee Member Boppanda Appaji proposed the vote of thanks.

Various sports and games were conducted for the members present by Sports Committee Member Adikera Sajjan Cariappa.

Cash prizes were presented to meritorious students while the Ph.D awardee Dr. Theetharamada Dr. Devaki was felicitated on the occasion.

Hon. Secretary Chottanda Chengappa, Mallengada Sharanu Somaiah, Theethira Beena, Ammanda Somaiah, Mullanda Vinu Cariappa and others were present.

Pombolak Kodava Koota Holds Puthari Othorme Koota

Puthari Othorme Koota of Pombolak Kodava Koota, Vijayanagar 4th Stage, was held recently at Kodava Samaja here.

Mundottira Jaya Chengappa, President of Pombolak Kodava Koota, welcomed. Hon. Secretary Chottanda Chengappa read the report of various activities undertaken by the Koota. 

Sponsors’ list was read by Joint Secretary Guddanda Rashmi Uday.

Kullachanda Vinutha Kesari, Treasurer, presented income and expenses of the Koota. 

Boppanda Appaji, Mallengada Sharan Somaiah, Mullanda Vinu,  Theetharamada Dr. Devaki, Thithira Beena, Sports Secretary Adikera Sajan Kariappa and area representative of Kodava Samaja Ammanda Somaiah were the dignitaries on the dais.

Thathira Bheemaiah, Vice-President, proposed a vote of thanks.

The entire programme was anchored by Kullachanda Sahana Kesari. Kodava traditional dances were the highlight of the function.

The members actively participated in all the activities.
