Union Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar will arrive at Madikeri tomorrow to participate in the valedictory function of the ongoing Shantheyanda Hockey Tournament-2016 at K.M. Cariappa College Grounds.

Addressing a joint press meet yesterday, Tournament Committee President S.B. Ravi Kushalappa and Working President Veena Achhaiah said that the tournament had been organised successfully with over 299 teams participating.

Manohar Parrikar will be the chief guest of the valedictory function to be held at 2 pm tomorrow. State Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara, Ministers Dinesh Gundurao, T.B. Jayachandra, Abhayachandra Jain, Satish Jarkiholi, Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha, Legislators Appachu Ranjan, K.G. Bopaiah and Sunil Subramani, AICC Spokesperson Brijesh Kalappa, Kodava Hockey Academy President Pandanda Kuttappa and others will be present. The event will be presided by Shantheyanda B. Monnappa.

The final match of Shantheyanda Cup-2016 will be held at 3 pm tomorrow. The winning team will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 2 lakh and Runner-up team will get Rs. 1 lakh cash prize. The teams losing in the semi-finals will get Rs. 25,000 each.
